Just a 5-minute drive from the CBD, Stewords Riverboat, a non-motorized Mississippi-styled riverboat moored at Marina South Pier, is an easy-to-get-to getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.

On the Main Deck (Shechem) is Santa Fe Tex-Mex Grill, a casual-dining family restaurant specializing in American Tex-Mex cuisine, whilst the Bridge Deck (Hebron) is home to Breaking Bread, a unique café themed around food & fellowship and serving sumptuous stews and grills. The Upper Deck (Bethel) is the Riverboat’s very versatile Function Hall which has played host to numerous company dinner & dances, birthday parties, weddings, church services, and even dinner theatre events.

From Music Nites to Grill Nites, sizzling Fajitas to stylish Margaritas, combined with the cozy ambience, fabulous food and gentle swaying of the vessel, Stewords Riverboat comes to life with something special for everyone.

Come to the River!

The Name "Stewords"

Many have been intrigued by our name, ‘Stewords Riverboat’. Here’s the explanation behind our unique spelling of the word which would normally have been spelt STEW-A-RDS.

The name ‘Stewords’ is multi-pronged. The first half of the word is ‘Stew’, which generally refers to the mouth-watering delicacies served on board. The second half is ‘Words’, which represents the training programmes and seminars we conduct on board periodically. Great stews and great words are put together by faithful stewards, the term ‘Stewards’ being reflective of our business model and management philosophy.

About Our Business
We don’t have a vision statement, because the dynamics and directions of our business are so diverse that we can’t describe it in a sentence or two. For instance, we started off as a training centre specializing in children’s programmes and family-life seminars, never expecting that a few years later we’d be in the F&B line! So, what we have instead is a set of 5 ‘purposes’ or ‘handles’ that we remind ourselves of very often, even as we let the river carry us where it will.

To Reap a Substantial and Sustainable Monetary Profit
Very honestly speaking, the reason why we’re in business is to earn money, lots and lots of it! And we are not just interested in making a quick buck followed by a quick duck. We are looking at producing and developing a sustainable source of income for the long term, so that each one of us can devote more time, energy, and resources to things that matter more.

To Produce Loyal Customers, Increasing Market Share
We don’t just want people to spend money and go on their merry way. We want people who genuinely love our products and services, genuinely believe in our way of doing business, genuinely support us and wish us well, and genuinely become our friends. Just as we genuinely desire to serve them well and make a positive impact in their lives.

To Establish our Brands as being of Highest Possible Standing
Brands live long in the minds of the consumer, long after the business transaction is over. A brand is very hard to define – it is more than a logo, more than a slogan, more than a colour scheme, more than a culture. It is everything that a company or a business is and stands for. We work hard to define and refine our brands, because someday soon, it is our brands that will define us.

To Expand the Business by Adding More Outlets, or Diversifying
We always look beyond the walls of what we are today, with an ‘Ed-Venturous’ spirit always eager to break new ground and learn new things along the way. Although our main business today is F&B, we are by no means limiting ourselves to that.

To Model a Business based on Biblical Principles and Values
A business is very much like a kingdom, and we’re drawing lessons from how God manages his Kingdom to help us manage ours. We’re not imposing a religion on anyone, but rather drawing wisdom and insights from the Bible on matters like management and leadership, marketing strategy, staff training, and discipline issues. We also continually work towards having Biblical and godly values such as integrity, accountability, and the fruit of the Spirit as our way of life and standard of conduct in all our undertakings.

These five purposes we’ve identified are things that remain relevant no matter what we venture into. It is these that make the Riverboat, as well as any other facility as may become available to us in the future, into the vibrant heart of life it was intended to be, as it begins to take on numerous identities as a performing arts venue, a training and education hub, a family retreat, a health and wellness centre, and many, many more.

And everything will live where the river flows.
