Tour The Boat

Main Deck (Shechem)

Did you know that the Mississippi merges with the Rio Grande? Well, it does! On board Stewords Riverboat, that is. As you step into the Main Deck of the Riverboat, you'll find yourself instantly transported to the Texan border, and in the cozy, family-oriented atmosphere of Santa Fe Tex-Mex Grill (Link to Santa Fe). Complete with good ol' fashioned wooden booth seats, and a baby grand at our 'living room' corner called W Lounge, the Main Deck is exudes a warmth that's reminiscent of a visit to Grandpa & Grandma's.

The Main Deck, which takes about 100-120 guests, can also be booked exclusively and is popular for birthday parties, wedding anniversaries and get-togethers.

Upper Deck (Bethel)

Our Upper Deck is a versatile function hall that comes complete with a stage, sound system and musical instruments. This deck, which takes 120 guests in dining/banquet set-up or 180 in theatre style, is just the right place for company dinners, meetings, private gatherings, church events, and even drama, music, or dinner-theatre performances. Our team of dedicated stewards will gladly work with you to organize a unique and memorable event for your guests.

Bridge Deck (Hebron)

The Bridge Deck is where the Riverboat really comes to life. Enjoy an evening of food and fellowship at Breaking Bread, whilst you soak in the breathtaking view of the open sea speckled with dots of light from ships moored at the Eastern Anchorage. Add to that the beautiful starlit night sky, the refreshing sea breeze, and the gentle rocking of the boat, and you get a ‘rapture experience’ from the hustle and bustle of the city that’s hard to beat.

Boasting a newly-built show kitchen, custom-made wrought iron furniture, and feature lighting, the Bridge Deck is also a great venue for private functions like weddings, themed parties, and cookouts. Takes 80-100 guests comfortably.

The Wheelhouse

Been looking for somewhere quiet and decent to share an intimate evening with your loved one? Why not try The Wheelhouse, an exclusive air-conditioned dining cabin that also comes with an outdoor dining deck and a five-man Jacuzzi. The cabin takes 8-10 guests comfortably, whilst the dining deck seats up to 16. The Wheelhouse is equipped with an attached bathroom, and stocked with a selection of CD’s, books and board games for your enjoyment.

This little home-away-from-home can be yours for just $50 per hour (with discounts proportionate to Food & Beverage spending). For further enquiries, please call 6278 5775 or email enquiry@riverboat.com.sg.

A Brief History

1991 Built in Singapore, as one of three similar vessels. The two others have been shipped to Australia, making our Riverboat the only one of its kind in Southeast Asia.

1992 Christened ‘Sentosa Riverboat’, and began operating at Sentosa’s North Shore Jetty under her first owner, A&W. A&W operated on the Main Deck, whilst a Chinese restaurant occupied the Upper Deck, and a beer garden the Bridge Deck.

1996 Vacated by previous occupants, as A&W made its way out of the Singapore F&B scene.

1997 Bought over by Source Ed-Ventures Pte Ltd, and taken to a shipyard for extensive repairs and renovation works.

2000-01 ‘Mothballed’ at a private marina facility, whilst we were searching for a mooring site.

Dec-01 Renamed Stewords Riverboat, and brought back to its old site at Sentosa. Santa Fe operated on the Main Deck, whilst the other two decks were used only for private bookings.

Mid 2003 The three decks were named, prophetically, with names that would largely determine their purpose and function. Main Deck: Shechem (Place of Greatest Strength). Upper Deck: Bethel (House of God). Bridge Deck: Hebron (A Place of Fellowship).

Oct-06 Left Sentosa, and sent to the shipyard again for yet another makeover, this time focusing on the Bridge Deck & Wheelhouse. The Bridge Deck now boasts a show kitchen and canopy with a skylight.

Dec-06 Started operations at Marina South Pier, according to prophecy, with Santa Fe on the Main & Bridge Deck.

Aug-07 Breaking Bread, an interactive café, opens on the Bridge Deck.
